Women’s Empowerment

Women’s burdens are increasing in wars and crises times, and many of them have become responsible for their families after losing the breadwinner in addition to childcare, many also lose access to education, and cases of violence and violations against women are increasing.
Our Swa’adna al-souria Organization (SAO) works to support women in conflict zones, so they have got their rights to work, education and knowledge, and on other hand, to strength their capacity for political participation.
The support of Our Swa’adna al-souria Organization (SAO) is concentrated on increasing their skills and practical experiences to increase their chances of getting a fit work and raising women’s awareness on family health and their own health. The organization also facilitates dialogues in which women discuss public issues.

The program includes:
• Economic empowerment training: which includes professional trainings on sewing, wool knitting, handworks, and women’s haircuts, as well as computer skills (Word & Excel, surfing the internet, digital security).
• Literacy Programmes.
• Health empowerment training: which includes nursing courses, reproductive health sessions, epidemiological and prevention sessions, first -aid training.
• Dialogue sessions on political and social topics such as: violence, women’s experiences of arrest and displacement, women’s participation in local administrations.
• Family mental health training: which includes sessions on psychological health, wellness areas, communication skills, and parental skills sessions.
